In Cahors, this juicy grape is known as Côt, and makes leaner and drier wines than New World examples. While the majority of Cahors is single-varietal, sometimes Merlot and/or Tannat are blended in. Aged in oak, these wines exhibit intense flavors of dark berry and spice.
